Völklingen is best known for the Völklinger Hütte, a decommissioned ironworks and UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. It's one of the most frequently booked destinations for company outings we drive in Saarland. From Katzweiler it's about 65 kilometers, just under 50 minutes via the A6 and A620. Many groups combine the visit to the ironworks with a stop in Saarbrücken, only a few kilometers away.
