Bus rental in Heidelberg
If you rent a bus in Heidelberg, the main benefit is simple: arriving relaxed in one of the most visited cities in Germany. Millions of guests come every year, many of them in groups. BELAHMER REISEN works as a bus company in Heidelberg for clubs, school classes, companies and tour groups. From our base in Katzweiler it is about 90 kilometres, a little over an hour via the A6. The castle above the old town is on almost every group's list. The red sandstone ruin is the very image of German Romanticism, and its cellar holds the Great Tun, a giant wine barrel. You can walk up or take the funicular, which continues to Molkenkur and the Königstuhl summit. From the castle terrace you look across the rooftops to the Neckar. Down in town, the Hauptstrasse runs for about 1.6 kilometres, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Germany. Along it are the Church of the Holy Spirit, the market square and the Old University. Heidelberg University was founded in 1386 and is the oldest university in present-day Germany. The student prison, where students once served their sentences, is a favourite with school groups. Cross the Old Bridge to the far bank of the Neckar and climb to the Philosophers' Walk. From there you get the famous view of the old town and castle. For senior groups, a boat trip on the Neckar is the more comfortable alternative. Three times a year, in June, July and September, the castle illuminations with fireworks take place. The city fills up, and a coach with a fixed pickup point is worth a lot. The same goes for Advent, when the Christmas market spreads across several squares in the old town. Good to know: coaches are not allowed into the narrow old town. We drop your group at the designated stops on its edge and collect everyone there again. The rest is an easy walk. Heidelberg is also a good starting point. The university, research institutes and international companies book field trips and transfers with us, for example to Frankfurt Airport, an hour away. We drive in both directions. A tried and tested day: take the funicular up to the castle in the morning, tour the courtyard, the Great Tun and the Pharmacy Museum, then lunch in the old town. In the afternoon cross the Old Bridge to the Philosophers' Walk or board a boat. Around 5 pm the group gets back on the coach at the edge of the old town, and an hour later you are home in the Palatinate. Groups with more time should head up the Neckar valley. Neckarsteinach with its four castles is 20 minutes away, Bad Wimpfen with its imperial palace about an hour. With your own coach you link these places without changing. For a quote, send us the date, programme and number of passengers. The fixed price includes tolls, fuel and the driver.

Coaches are not allowed into the old town. We use the stops and coach parking on its edge, a few minutes' walk from the Hauptstrasse and the funicular. You receive the exact meeting point for the return trip in advance.
Yes. The illuminations take place three times a year, in June, July and September. We plan the journey with extra time because the city is very busy on those evenings. It pays to ask early.
Very much so. The castle, Old University, student prison and Philosophers' Walk cover history and literature, and distances are short. We plan the trip as a morning visit or a full day.
Schwetzingen with its palace gardens, the castles of the Neckar valley, Speyer or a detour along the Bergstrasse all fit well. With your own coach, combinations like these work in a single day.
Yes, especially to Frankfurt Airport, about an hour away. We take conference guests, research groups and tour groups straight to the terminal and pick them up there as well.
